Multi-platinum singer, songwriter, actress, and activist BECKY G spills her heart out to fans with her new album “ESQUINAS.” The project allows the Mexican-American star to unapologetically showcase the most vulnerable side of herself yet. Becky continues to claim her spot as a leading voice in the music industry while joining forces with her colleagues, like ÁNGELA AGUILAR, CHIQUIS, DANNYLUX, IVAN CORNEJO, and YAHRITZA Y SU ESENCIA to create hit tracks that represent a modern take on the music that raised her. “ESQUINAS” is now available on all streaming platforms.

Executively produced by multi-award-winning composer and producer EDGAR BARRERA, the Latin GRAMMY-nominated star built off her last album, “ESQUEMAS,” to transmit a version of Becky who is embracing her identity as a 200 percenter – 100 percent Mexican and 100 percent American. The Regional Mexican-inspired project creates a hybrid sound influenced by her roots, paired with a new-school flair that pays homage to the two flags she represents.

The project’s focus track, “2NDO CHANCE” with IVAN CORNEJO, presents a sulky Becky who sings about a conflicting love-hate relationship. Ivan Cornejo builds on the moody sentiment with his gritty vocals to transmit a raw feeling about losing someone who once brought a spark to his life. Produced by EDGAR BARRERACASTA, and FRANK RIO, the track features hypnotic guitar strings by Ivan Cornejo, an intense bassline, and traditional Tejano-esque keys that amplify the sentimentality behind this track.

Drawing inspiration from her upbringing, her cover of “POR UN AMOR” pays tribute to the late King of Ranchera Music, Vicente Fernández, fusing a classic from Becky’s childhood with her unique flow. Throughout the album, the star’s distinct vocals are accompanied by instruments that her fans are unaccustomed to. Accordions, trumpets, tubas, and even the traditional Mexican tololocheare apparent on this production, each one reminiscent of the sounds Becky grew up alongside.

Becky gave fans a first glimpse of what to expect from this Regional Mexican-inspired studio album with the release of her first single “QUERIDO ABUELO.” Through this track, the global superstar penned a heartfelt tribute to her late grandfather and expressed her profound gratitude for the wisdom, love, and support she constantly received from him, while continuing to honor her heritage. The single has amassed over 1 million plays across digital streaming platforms. This well-rounded album arrives amidst Becky’s first-ever headlining U.S tour MI CASA, TU CASA TOUR, where she invites people to get a glimpse inside “Casa Gomez.” The 16-city trek has made stops in cities like Boston, New York, and Miami and is set to close out in Becky’s hometown of Los Angeles, California on October 15.
