charlieonnafriday is ending the summer with a bang. The 20-year-old singer/songwriter, who has achieved several hundred million streams and views over the last few years, shares his latest single, “Undefeated” and is currently touring across the US and Canada with Tate McRae. Out now via Island Records, the anthemic new single is a pump-up song brought to life with booming production from Tyler Dopps. “Undefeated” is a song fit for arenas; it opens with a string arrangement leading into a powerful horn section that sets the stage for Charlie’s confident, catchy bars, “Never take no L, no / We stay undefeated.” Before the release, charlieonnafriday teased the song during recent performances on tour and it’s clear it’s a fan favourite already.
Channeling his past experiences on the field, charlieonnafriday wrote “Undefeated” with these very sentiments in mind: “Growing up playing football, I’ve discovered there’s no better feeling than finding a song that can lock you into that fired up mindset and make you feel like you’re on top of the world. My new song ‘Undefeated’ is an anthem made for moments like these and is the perfect hype song for any situation.”
“Undefeated” arrives on the heels of “I’m Not Crazy,” a song that cleverly plays off the iconic Matchbox Twenty hit “Unwell” (2003). In the accompanying music video, Charlie hosts a Project-X style rager that shows him working hard and playing even harder. Even the best parties eventually end, but as this one fades into the next morning, Charlie’s morale remains high as the “Undefeated” intro kicks in.
2023 has been a landmark year for charlieonnafriday. His artistic output across a string of singles, from “That’s What I Get” to “Same Friends (ft. Lil Tjay)” to “I’m Not Crazy” and now with “Undefeated,” has been stronger than ever. Charlie has also spent much of the year bringing his vibrant youthful energy on the road in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Beginning with his ONNAFRIDAY College Tour, followed by supporting Jessie Murph across North America, and eventually opening for his hometown hero Macklemore in Europe, Charlie has levelled up each step of the way. Now he’s back on tour again - this time with Tate McRae. The Are We Flying Tour kicked off 10 days ago in Chicago, and after a sold-out show last night in Philadelphia, Charlie and Tate are heading up to House of Blues Boston. Full tour routing below.
