Today, Alabama-bred and Nashville-based comedian and musician Danae Hays shares her latest comedy-country single, “All It Takes (Is A Woman).” Brimming with her signature twang and humor, the track is her parody of a spiteful country breakup anthem. Produced by Alex Kline (Reba McEntire, Tenille Arts), Hays co-wrote the track alongside Kline and Chris Gelbuda (Meghan Trainor, Nate Smith).
“All It Takes” follows Hays’ debut comedy-country single “Rode Hard,” which she released in the summer of 2023. “Rode Hard” peaked at No. 6 on the Global iTunes Charts, No. 8 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales, No. 22 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales, and landed Hays at No. 34 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists.
Earlier this week, she wrapped her first-ever comedy tour, which sold out in minutes and included a night at Nashville’s famed Zanies. Hays and her wife Mandie Kaii host a weekly podcast called The Refined and Rowdy Show, where humor, heart and contrasting perspectives collide as they discuss everything from pop culture to heated issues. The podcast — which launched in Fall 2023 — just recently surpassed 1 million listeners.
Equal parts Rodney Carrington, Andy Samberg and Carole Burnett, Danae Hays represents a fresh, new female voice in the comedy and music worlds. Her cast of zany southern characters and parody country music songs have pushed her to the top of the Spotify and Apple Music charts and earned her a cumulative following of 3.3M across platforms.
Stay tuned for more exciting projects from Hays this year.
