Celebrated Americana quintet Fruition has released their beautiful, contemplative new track “Scars,” which appears on their new album How To Make Mistakes (out August 23rd). “Scars” is a blend of traditional folk/rock, spacey melodies and the band’s signature vocal harmonies, as the narrator thoughtfully reflects on life, past love, loss and regrets.Singer, songwriter and guitarist on the song, Jay Cobb Anderson offers “We all got scars. Some are like badges of honor, some are like scarlet letters. Every now and then, a still, lonely moment comes down on you like a heavy wave. It all comes back. Often in those times the “woulda, shoulda’s” take precedence, and while considering the mistakes you’ve made, you start to feel worn out. All we can hope for is just enough to make it through alright. “ Listen to “Scars” HERE.

Fruition has announced new tour dates in October and November, extending their summer dates through the fall and early winter. The new dates will start off in their hometown of Portland, OR on October 17th and will see the group making stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Boston, Philadelphia, and many more. The band is also happy to announce their first appearance at the iconic Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in San Francisco on October 5th. See full list of dates below.

How To Make Mistakes is the band’s first album in four years and the group chose to take a new approach to the recording process. Fruition self-produced the album and, for the first time, they recorded all of the tracks live off the floor. The result is a collection that embraces the in-the-moment connection and feel of a live band and songs that exude the love, growth, longing, and life experienced during their fifteen years together and in their personal lives. How To Make Mistakes is the most honest, vulnerable and relatable collection of songs Fruition has released to date.

Distinguished by soaring three-part harmonies and three accomplished songwriters, Fruition has built an impressive body of work that is both uniquely their own and instantly familiar. Jay Cobb Anderson (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Kellen Asebroek (vocals, guitar, piano), Mimi Naja (vocals, guitar, piano, mandolin), Jeff Leonard (bass), and Tyler Thompson (drums) together have created their most fully realized work yet and the most definitive album of their career.
