Rising singer/songwriter Mae Estes atones for murder with an act of community service, releasing the video for her newest song, “Gettin’ Back Up To Heaven.” The good girl-gone-bad, revenge-seeking tale of a preacher’s daughter-turned-murderer was released in the midst of a busy CMA Fest for Estes and features thick banjo, twangy fiddle, lyrical twists and turns, and deadly vocals from the AIMP 2024 Rising Songwriter-Artist of the Year winner.
Written by Estes, Paul Sikes (producer) and Justin Wilson, “Gettin’ Back Up To Heaven” highlights Big Machine Records’ hot newcomer’s love of traditional Country music and knack for telling an impassioned, sinister story—harkening back to classics like “The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia,” “Whiskey Lullaby,” or that beloved mysterious third verse of “The Thunder Rolls.”
