Today, GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Maren Morris has officially released her new 5-song EP, Intermission. The EP features previously released tracks “cut! (feat. Julia Michaels)” and “i hope i never fall in love”, alongside three new tracks. The MUNA-produced and playful “push me over” was also co-written with MUNA and Tobias Jesso, Jr., and sees Maren leaning into some of her boldest and flirtiest lyrics. On “because, of course”, she pledges her unconditional love, and on the emotionally charged “this how a woman leaves,” she’s picking up and leaving for the last time.
About the EP, Maren shares:
Intermission is the distillation of the strangest year of my life. I decided to hit the scariest reset I could have ever conceptualized and there’s no looking back. The lengths one will go to feel joy again are sometimes desperate and terrifying as all get out, but we all deserve peace in this very short few trips around the sun. Here’s my heart journey and gamut of emotions packaged into 5 songs. Covering loss, catharsis, sexuality and gratitude, I hope you hear the light coming back to me in them and somewhere perhaps see it mirrored in you.
love, m
