Meet Misty Mtn. Comprised of Montana native vocalist/songwriter Mo Trunzo and Los Angeles native multi-instrumentalist Lucas Segall, these sonic alchemists produce dazzling synth-pop immersed with lush productions, androgynous choral textures, and cherubic vocals. Piloting through entrancing soundscapes and ruminative storytelling, Misty Mtn’s music weaves together the power of yesterday’s memories and tomorrow’s dreams.

Misty Mtn arrive today with “These Lights,” their new single inspired by the duo's return to Montana and the changing world around them. The track captures the wistfulness of the Christmas carol “Silent Night” and the picturesque environment of their home state. After spending the last few years between Brooklyn to Los Angeles, Misty Mtn have moved back to the Pacific Northwest, shedding their previous identity in order to catapult into a new spiritual phase. “These Lights” serves as this impetus as the duo have crafted a darkly molded synth-pop hymn that travels with tranquility while pushing forward with self-curiosity.

Misty Mtn share this of their new single: “‘These Lights’ is that moment of beyond your better judgment going to your childhood home that’s no longer yours, looking up your ex on Instagram, seeing who got the job over you — allowing yourself to get lost in the memories but dance among the pain. We’ve been doing some field recordings up here in Montana. If you listen closely you can hear us walking around in the snow. Stuff like that really helps start a unique atmosphere that can inform the rest of the production. We also wanted to bring in elements of the holiday genre without pinning ourselves into the corner of calling this a ‘holiday song’.”

The accompanying music video was shot in Missoula, Montana next to Ogren Park and pictures a brisk walk through America's heartland. About the clip, Misty Mtn share: "We watched the openings of a lot of holiday films to see if we could capture that energy in the first few seconds of the video. A lot of the world kind of feels like a ghost town right now so we wanted to capture the holiday spirit while also capturing what it feels like to just basically, be alone listening to your favorite song."

Stimulated by the organic vocal arrangements of 70s and 80s acts, Misty Mtn’s own distinct aesthetics can be heard on their 2019 self-produced debut EP Missed Your Call. The EP features their single "Drive" that has close to 1 million streams on Spotify. Their music has drawn praise from the likes of KCRW, LADYGUNN, EARMILK, Popdust, The Line of Best Fit, and the inclusion on Spotify’s Chill Vibes, Indie Pop and Left of Center editorial playlists. The duo has toured North America supporting Vancouver Sleep Clinic and Rainbow Kitten Surprise, as well as headlining shows in Los Angeles and NYC.

A few months into the pandemic, the duo relocated to Montana where they have been recording a new project, slated for early 2021 release.
