Today, Amazon Music announces a new Amazon Music Original by rising Canadian country singer-songwriter Owen Riegling. The song is a cover of The Tragically Hip’s song “Bobcaygeon" and is released in celebration of the band’s 40th anniversary. Riegling will debut the Amazon Music Original cover live on stage next week at Cavendish Festival in Prince Edward Island. Listen to the track exclusively on Amazon Music HERE.
“The Tragically Hip are Canadian legends, their music was the soundtrack to some of my fondest memories growing up,” said Riegling. “My personal favourite song of theirs had always been ‘Bobcaygeon,’ I used to play it in the bars when I was cutting my teeth. It felt right to record my own version of it.”
Alongside the release arrives the official video, which depicts the band’s influence on Riegling as well as the significance of growing up in a small town and how that became the core of both The Tragically Hip and Riegling’s music. Watch the video HERE.
