International punk band Gogol Bordello has announced special guests for their legendary New York New Year’s Eve shows.  This year’s shows will be at Brooklyn Bowl New York andamp; Philadelphia from December 27-31, celebrating NYC vibes by bringing together New York legends like JON SPENCER, and new names that are inspired by that same frequency. Led by Ukrainian frontman Eugene Hütz, this year’s shows are an extension of his new imprint Casa Gogol Records, with an ear to the ground and always deeply rooted in the New York scene. The run will toast to the unbreakable spirit of punk, rock and hardcore withJON SPENCER, Puzzled Panther (Casa Gogol Records), cumgirl8, Crazy andamp; The Brains, Incendiary Device, Values Here, Grace Bergere (Casa Gogol Records) and Mary Shelley. This 5 show residency will mark 16 years of Gogol Bordello’s New Year’s Eve celebrations.

On New Year’s Eve punk girl duo Puzzled Panther - joined by Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Brian Chase and Eugene Hütz - will take the Brooklyn Bowl stage, celebrating their new single “Smoke and the Mirrors We Broke” produced by post-punk legend Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Amyl and the Sniffers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Idles). Their debut EP is set to release on Casa Gogol Records in early 2024, also produced by Launay.

“Youth culture is always producing new brilliant music, and you just pray that you are there when it happens.” says Hütz, “As different as Puzzled Panther and Grace Bergere are, they have the right kind of newness and right kind of oldness about them. They arrived into this world as poets with a singular vision and superb knack for melodism. To me they are the new New York, which has a lot more in common with that magical old New York we know, and none of that bullshit in the middle.”

With Hütz’s recent announcement (Rolling Stone) of Casa Gogol Records, comes a timely collaboration cover of Angelic Upstarts’ “Solidarity” with Bernard Sumner (Joy Division, New Order) and Zachery Allan Starkey(Composer/Producer and New Order affiliate). Listen to Bernard Sumner’s “Right To Freedom” Mix and Gogol Bordello’s “Unity” Mix. This tribute to the punk and anti-Soviet movement will benefit injured Ukrainian soldiers through Kind Deeds, and stand in solidarity with oppressed groups worldwide.
