As virtual performances have established a new (and necessary) avenue for artists to connect with audiences and communities, the role of the online show Producer has proven to be an important asset in developing and executing a successful online show. 

A Producer can contribute in a variety of capacities, including:
- Assisting with the set-up of the show
- Providing on-site A/V execution of broadcast production
- Coaching the artist through the technical production
- Offering facilitation
- Managing audience engagement during the event

The certification program includes a series of mandatory online modules covering:

- Hosting Best Practices
- Meeting Facilitation and Chat Moderation
- Stage management techniques
- Visual production
- Audio production
- Handling announcements, rules of engagement, and land acknowledgements
- Tech support and troubleshooting streaming platforms
- the Side Door booking platform 
- Hands on rehearsal with artist

Workshops will be hosted live online for participants. The technical modules will focus on online show support but the majority of the material can be applied to in-person shows as well. Instructors will include a group of established hosts and moderators from within the Side Door community.

Once participants have completed the modules, they will be recommended through a referral program on Side Door when approached by artists looking for assistance with their shows.
