The first Dirty Drummer opened its doors in Phoenix in 1975, started by Frank “Drummer” Armstrong and “Dirty Dave” Werner. They opened five of their 14 bars in the first 5 years including 1980’s 44th St. & Oak location. In 2019, Frank’s daughter, Dana and her friends Tom and Andrew reopened the Dirty Drummer, keeping the experience of the original years of the business as their inspiration.
