Deep in the Shenandoah Valley, about 90 minutes west of Washington DC, sits the bucolic college town of Winchester VA, home to Shenandoah University and one of the coolest little live music clubs in the United States. The Bright Box Theater located in the heart of Winchester, on the beautifully renovated Pedestrian Mall, is that town's home for cool music andamp; fun live entertainment experiences. The bands typically fall somewhere in the jam, bluegrass, americana, indie, folk, indie-folk, groove, country, soul, funk, and other peripheral genres with an emphasis on quality. 

While the name may imply fixed-seat theatre style atmosphere, the Bright Box is really anything but. It can be configured with seats and tables or row seating or, as in most cases in a standing room only configuration with seating along the walls. The Bright Box Theater is a dynamic performance and event venue, where everyone is made to feel welcome. Besides showcasing some of the best music and comedy performances in the area, The Bright Box Theater is also a superb venue for  weddings, private parties, reunions, and fundraising events, and feature state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and projection equipment.

The Bright Box Theater is a true slice of Americana situated in what could best be described as the original beating heart of America. As an agent in the music business myself, I probably send ten to fifteen shows a year to the Bright Box Theater and literally every single artist that I work with has nothing but great things to say about the staff, the venue, the vibe and the sound. There are two rooms at the Bright Box Theater, a main room (downstairs) with a 220 capacity and a smaller room upstairs with a capacity of 75 people. The upstairs room is perfect for developing singer/songwriters and smaller touring bands, has a very intimate up-close-and-personal vibe and an almost house-show type feeling.
