As 2020 draws to a hopeful close, and families across the US prepare to come together to give thanks for whatever they can find to give thanks for in this bullshit year, we here at MusicBizHub give thanks to Century Media Records for reminding us that there is still some good metal out there amid all the garbage passing for heavy music these days. Rather than seeking out some new blood though, CM has reached back into the vault of the late 90s and early aughts to showcase some of that era's deserving gems.

Century Media Records have announced the addition of US death metal/grindcore veterans MISERY INDEX to its worldwide family! Active since the early 2000s, MISERY INDEX have established themselves as a stronghold for outspoken, politically charged lyrics and savage yet surgically precise metal, releasing six studio albums, several EPs and performing well over 1.000 concerts in 44 countries to date.

Now, the band has teamed up with a reliable new partner for the years to come. “We are very excited to spew forth our next batch of vitriol with our good friends at Century Media. It is a massive pairing for a new chapter! Respect!” says the band in a statement from CM. Go HERE to read more about Misery Index past and present. https://themiseryindex.tumblr.com/Biography

As if that wasn't enough good news for which to give thanks is this time of blessings and togetherness, Century Media brought some old time religion to the family dinner table with their signing of southern sludge lords Eyehategod.

Rolling Stone dubbed EHG one of “America’s great live bands”. The band have returned to Century Media Records, with an eye towards a Spring 2021 release for the band’s first album in seven years: A History of Nomadic Behavior (date TBA).

A joint statement from the band on the band and label reunion: "EyeHateGod are pleased to announce we’ve signed a licensing deal with Century Media Records USA and Europe...! We welcome the new changes along with the new year coming, and want this union to benefit everyone involved, especially our rabid and disturbed fans across the globe!"

So there you have it, a little light in the 2020 darkness.
