Executive Producer Melissa Lee West has announced immediate availability of For the Good, on all music platforms.  The Black empowerment anthem features the vocals of noted artist, Chris Lee and rapper CAMM.

"Heartbreak in the Black community is playing out publicly right now. For the Good is a clarion call for us to come together. It offers a different perspective to what we are seeing daily," states West.

For the Good is a community call to action pushing against the negative narratives regarding the Black community. With poignant visuals and strong references to Black economic power, the lyrics paint a picture of hope and success.

"Now we givin' back to the hood for the good… Teach Black, reach Black, see Black…" Music has played a significant role in the Black community for as far as history reports. For the Good adds a layer to the messaging of Black power with tangible ideas for how each person in the community plays a role in the collective Black success. Featured rapper CAMM shares, "Down to each lyric we tried to represent our Black experience and the light that it brings to our life! It's so bright, too bright to not share and give right back to that same community!"

Behind the Music

Recognizing that activism comes in many forms, West tapped Hamilton (Chicago) Broadway performer Chris Lee to bring the message to life.  Lee's other work includes roles on Showtime's The Chi and CW's Legacies with appearances on  SWAT, Empire, and more. The result of West's vision and Lee's talent? A memorable hook mixed with a timely message.

"The reason I said yes to this project is quite simple honestly. Black Lives Matter sometimes takes on the energy of a fad. I don't like that," says Lee. "We need to put our money where our mouth is. This was a chance for me to use my art to bring light to the situation."

For the Good is light, empowerment and energy needed for the Black community and their allies at this time.
